CODE OF CONDUCT
The Joe Richer Junior Golf Club provides a worthwhile activity which can be pursued throughout life and which helps develop character and good sportsmanship. All JRJGC competitions are conducted under the USGA Rules of Golf, as amended by the local rules. In addition, the following is a Code of Conduct, which is a guideline for junior golfers to follow throughout the tournaments, both on and off the course. It is not intended to intimidate players, but to help JRJGC members understand the consequences of their actions.
- USE DECENT AND PROPER LANGUAGE AND BEHAVIOR AT ALL TIMES.
- UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT EXAMPLES
Cheating, unreported violation of a USGA Rule of Golf, swearing, obscene vulgar language or gestures, throwing clubs, displaying poor attitude, behavior or conduct.
- PROHIBITED USE
Smoking, or use of tobacco or chewing tobacco, alcohol or drugs (unless with medical authorization).
- RESPECT AND CARE FOR THE PROPERTY OF OTHERS AND THE GOLF COURSE
- PROPER EXAMPLES
Replace divots, repair ball marks, rake bunkers and use proper containers for garbage.
- IMPROPER EXAMPLES
Damaging greens, defacing or destroying club property, littering, leaving divots or ball marks, failure to rake bunkers, etc.
- GOLF ATTIRE FOR BOYS AND GIRLS
- PROPER ATTIRE
Neat and clean clothing, shoes, mid-thigh length, golf style shorts or long pants. All caps must be worn bills forward, and shirts must be tucked in.
- IMPROPER ATTIRE
Tennis or short shorts, tank tops, cut-offs, sweats, spandex and halter-tops.
- ELECTRONIC DEVICES ARE PROHIBITED FOR USE ON COURSE.
- PROHIBITED DEVICES INCLUDE:
cellular phones, noise making pagers, radios, walkmen and or any other similar noise-making device.

RULES
- Motorized carts are not permitted. Pull carts are allowed. Caddies would need to check and be cleared for approval by the host Golf Professional after a briefing of caddy responsibilities. Caddies would then need to introduce themselves to the Starter for final clearance. A minimum age of 18 years old is required to caddy.
- Picking-up (quit) without permission before play has ended will result in disqualification and suspension from the next event.
- Players must call and make a tee time in advance or there is no guaranteed entry into event.
- Withdraw at least 24 hours with notice to pro shop.
- No-shows with less than 24 hours notice will result in suspension from next event.
- Players may be penalized for slow play if more than one hole is open ahead or if not completing a set of holes in a time specified by the Rules Committee. A player may be subject to penalty if observed to require in excess of 40 seconds each for two separate shots. No practice chips or putts are allowed onto or near the green of any hole just completed.
- Galleries will be permitted but players are responsible for the actions of their families, relatives or friends. Galleries must keep a distance of 25 yards from the players and should walk in rough. No coaching or advice is allowed. The first infraction will result in a warning to the spectator. The spectator will be asked to leave the course if there is a second infraction. If the spectator refuses to leave, the player may be disqualified.
- After players have left the attesting table, cards are officially turned into the Committee and no changes may be made.
